Thumbs up 126 wood trim removal (how to)

This will also help for those who would like to reattach the veneer.

This past Friday, I removed the wood trim from a salvage 300SD. Not a bad job, took about an hour.

You will need:
#1 offset philips
#2 philips
small slotted for prying
needle nose
7mm deep socket
1/4 ratchet and hand spinner

Remove the outboard a/c vane assemblys by prying the (2)metal "clips" just inside the center bar, while gently pulling the assembly with needle nose. Once the vane assembly is removed, you will see the hole for access to the nuts holding the outboard, driver and pass., corners.
Remove the drivers underdash panel for access to (4) nuts on each side of the steering column and next to the key switch.
Tilt the center a/c vanes up to access the (3) #1 philips inside the top of the vent opening. The long drivers side is ready to pull.
The glove box panel is simply the removal of a few #2 screws.
Access to the other nut holding the small passenger corner panel is done by removing the glove box liner.(plastic insert rivets).

The wood trim is about 8mm thick (a sandwich of veneer, aluminum and wood backing) it is light but not "matchstick" brittle. It should come out with light tugging and prying.

OOPS!
After posting, I realized that I forgot the removal of the light switch. Give the knob a good tug, once in hand, loosen the large nut in the recess with needle nose pliers.
