what are the chances of having a bent rod on my 1993 300 d 2.5 . 88000 mi checked all that i could. car still smokes white to gray and very noisy .will not run .
misses and stalls. changed injectors and no improvment. had it picked up yesterday and the mech. says it could be a bent rod on the noise issue. on the smoke he says possible ip out of time or chain jumped ,is it possible for the chain to do this.. and how could the ip get out of time if it was not tampered with .he is going to advise me today. i am just looking for input so i can make a reasonable decision. i have not seen any bent rod issues in the search on 93 300 d models. i do notice that this model is considered one of the better cars by benz. thankx yankee
