Pete Lives!!!

i just got my car back from the mechanic and it is nice to have the car running again. new tranny and driveshaft. he had to finish the job for me because of my school schedule.

however, when i got home and turned the car off, the right side parking lights, front and back would not turn off. i have resorted to disconnecting the battery. does anyone know how to fix this? so both the front parking lights and the rear parking lights are maybe connected by a fuse somewhere?

please help if you can. thanks

Congratulations!!

On the lights, I wonder if your headlight switch could be going out? There is a position on the switch to turn only the right-side parking lights (or only the left-side parking lights; there's two separate positions to the left of the center "OFF position), and maybe something in the switch is shorting out?

Just an idea...good luck!

I am also relatively sure the headlight switch is in the wrong position, should point straight up to the "O".

i'm sorry. i had a blond moment. the headlight switch was left of the "0" so naturally the right side lights would turn on.

for a more legit question. my turn signals don't work nor do the hazards. where might the relay be on this puppy?

about school. it's going ok. it is just tough getting back into student mode again after being out for so long. most of the other students seem so young. i feel like an old woman when i am around these kids. riding the park and ride buses is a hassle.

about golf. i got spanked in myrtle beach. i don't know how but i stunk. hurricane charley saved me more embarrassment since we had to cut the golf trip short after day 2.

about driving the diesel again. glorious! i love the 'shake and rattle'. the volvo will be the backup car for now.

about dating. non-existent.

Oops, can men suffer blond moments?
Now; where did I put that pesky wallet?

It could be the relay or the hazard switch, if either or both go bad, the signals don't work.
Try cleaning the hazard switch first; it is much like a window switch inside.

how bout a quick procedure on cleaning the hazard switch? and tell me where the relay is? i saved a bunch of fuses and relays from the parts car that i could try.

Jen.

You need to remove the wood trim for the shifter.
the relay is located right infront of the shifter, on the
ashtray side.
You'll see a little black box laying on its side.

Louis.
