shut off valve--need a quick answer

Just installed a shut off valve in 77 300d. On the thread below, someone posted that when it is installed correctly on a NA 617, the manual shut off lever should move when a vacuum is pulled on the valve. On mine it does not. The shut off seems to be installed the same way as the one I took out. At least they 'feel' the same. On the old one, it came back about an inch and then I could feel it catch on something. New one feels the same.

I know on my 85 turbo 617, the manual shut off valve does NOT move when the vacuum shut off is activated.

Can anyone confirm that the manual shut off activates in concert with the vacuum shut off on a 77 300d, before I start it up?

And the answer is!!!--a correctly installed vacuum shut off valve on a 1977 300d with a NA617 does not move the manual shut off lever when activated. The two shut offs move independent of each other.
