new style I.P. vacuum valve

Hello all,

I just bought a new proportioning valve for the transmission vacuum line. I noticed that the adjustment mechanism is different. Instead of two nuts that you could adjust with 7 and 8 mm open-end wrenches, there's this strange-looking crimped cover wrapped around the shaft. I would take a picture, but my digital camera isn't working.

My question is: can you adjust these new-style valves? I am hoping they come properly calibrated from the factory, because I don't see how to adjust this thing without breaking it.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like an "anti tamper" cap. They can usually be removed, carefully, and discarded like the cap on the ALDA.

Borrow a camera.
