Climate Control not functional after new 617 engine
I recently put in a "new" engine on my 300D. The climate control always worked fine including AC before this and now the fan doesn't even turn on. The connection in the back of the climate control unit is tight.
I was hoping someone might suggest a place to start looking for the problem (I checked the fuses first). Also, the two wire (red & blue) connection to the AC compressor is different on the engine. Could anyone tell me (if I am looking down at the compressor) which wire would be above the other; red or blue? Hope that makes some sense.. I guess climate control threads are not very popular, so this one dropped like a brick to page 4 with no replies.
Dont have auto cc on my primitive 240D, but can suggest that many electrical problems end up being based on poor ground connections, that's the best that I can offer. Btw, congratulations on your successful engine swap! |
Hmmm
#1. Check grounds engine to body.
#2. Check vacuum routing. #3. Check power and ground at A/C compressor. #4. Check heater pump, if it blew, the controller may be toast. #5. Check all wires that where disconnected have been reconnected. #6. Replace all fuses with new, even if they look good. #7. Check all wires that where disconnected have been reconnected. Now you are ready to start diagnosing the real problem. :) Sounds like it will be something simple. :) |
Make sure you have good fuses and that you didn't fail to connect something. I'm not sure where all the wiring is on the W123, but it's very possible you pulled something loose while changing the engine.
