Flywheel to Tranny Input Shaft disconnection
 

Removing 84 300DT Automatic tranny.

Ok this is the step that I am supposed to be at I did all of the necessary disconnections:
1. remove Bowden Cable
2. remove exhaust pipe
2. remove cross member
3. disconnect drive shaft from output shaft and shorten it using the sleeve nut
4. Disconnect nuetral safety switch
5. Disconnect Vacuum Line
6. Disconnected some other line that fit into the rear of the tranny
7. Disconnected a cord that has a pin on the end of it that looks like the pin that fits into the wall for TV cable (it also had some red liquid (brighter than ATF liquid) leaking out.
8. Removed ATF cooler lines and Dipstick Pipe.
9. Removed the 6 BellHousing Bolts

But the tranny is in a slanted Position with the backside of the tranny on the floor and the front suspended by a shaft.

So I took a look up there and saw a shaft coming out from the engine (through the flywheel) and into the tranny. I cant get the tranny out.

Do I have to match it up through splines?
How could i get the tranny completely out?

Finally (out of curiosity) what are items 6 and 7?

I am supposed to see the pic attached but for some reason I dont see that shaft coming out.

You say the transmission is still attached to the engine? Did you remove the six small bolts into the flex plate? They are accessed through the front of the transmssion, there is a plate there. Take it off and if you strain to see there are three pairs of bolts. You would have to rotate the flex plate to get to them one at a time. Can take a contortionist and a very good swivel socket to get them all out. If they are still in there you should raise the rear of the trans up a some to take the strain off the front trans shaft, then start the unbolt procedure.

I saw something in my Haynes Manual that said to remove the bolts that attach the flywheel to the torque converter and it said that they are accessed using a through hole. It also had a picture of two bolts that were next to each other.

Is this what you are talking about?
Are these 6 bolts a set of 3 side by side bolts?

I removed the starter too

#6 sounds like the single black wire to the kick-down solenoid.
#7 sounds like the speedo cable

You may still have the oval plastic plug in place, pop it out and you will see the bolts which mate the torque converter to the flex plate. Turn the motor over at the crank hub nut to get each pair of bolts into view. There are 3 pair, 13mm head torqued to about 32 ft./lbs.
