Is smokeless good??
My engine does not smoke even at full pedal.
The facts: Turbo diesel 5 cylinder 3.0L 15M Miles Top speed 105MPH (reached by myself) Acceleration from stop: medium EGR & CCV disconnected ALDA adjusted (like 2 turns ccw) The engine performs decently. My question is: can I ambition more power from ALDA further adjustment or does the smokeless condition is a good sign of engine performance?? THX |

Smokeless is always good but little smoke should be there when the engine is cold and under hard acceleration or else it is a sign of lean mixture, the experts here would guide you better.

ALDA tweaked 2 turns CCW and NO smoke? Have you had someone drive behind you?
Where did you drive 105 MPH in D.R., There are some nice streches of road in your country, I like the trip from Santo Domingo to Casa DeCampo. I once had a cab driver doing 70-75MPH right through villages! A beautiful country you have!

Thx for replies.
My SUV definitely does not smoke. I have driven behind on my other car and also check my rearview at night when other cars are behind me. I have a Rexton SUV which has a Mercedes Engine bulit by the koreans. I am wondering if my ALDA might be setted the other way because probably some pieces might differ in this design (Asia vs Europe). However I don't wnat to risk breaking the ALDA by turning CW - saw in other threads that it might break. I have reached the top speed going east on the new DR expressways. Considering that the engine is pulling a 2 ton vehicle with a drag coeficient of 0.35, the power should be good to reach such speeds. Let me know further comments Rgds |

I was watching a car show on TV about how China is becoming a big market for cars etc. They took the camra's to a car show and showed a little Korean truck with a diesel that looked like it had an exact copy of my 603 sitting in it!!

The code of the engine is OM662LA Turbo-intercooled
Going back to the question: is it wise to tamper with the ALDA on CW turns?? |

Do a search gsxr has some really good posts showing how to do this on the 603.
