Injector testing
Is there anyone in the DFW area that can test my injectors, or does anyone know of a place here where I can take them? Went to an indy today, and he only has a rig for gas injectors (BMW type). He also said that removing them and seeing wetness underneath means nothing, as leakage during pressurization is what to look for. Is he right? Still trying to ressurrect the 300TD.

Call Robert Schnider, A service advisor at ******** Mercedes. He should have the number of the Bosch authorized Injection pump rebuilder. They should know.

Texas Fuel Injection in Fort Worth can do it, but I'm sure you can find someplace closer.

Check in your phone book for a local diesel injection service company. Any of them should be able to help you out. I just had mine tested the other day. They didn't charge a thing, and it only took about 10 minutes..

How do they test them, do they take them out?

Yes, they have to come out Jorn.
JimmyL, call a couple heavy equipment or truck shops and see who they use. |
You can buy your own,
If your really going to be doing a lot with diesel's, you can buy your own injector tester. My grandfather has one that i use.

I can't wait for the days when I do LESS with diesels! I just want to drive this car and do my routine maintanance. Is that so wrong....(grin)
Friday I found what could be the cleanest '83 240D possible, with possible exception of just nice paint, not perfect. I can't tell you how the wife glared at me when I mentioned my find. Don't think I'll be bringing that one home. JL |
