Need advice on shock absorbers
Hi
My car is 1985 300D Turbo. All the shocks are still the originals. I plan to replace with the Bilstein hevay duty type. They are pretty expensive, so I have some questions: (1) If I can afford to replace only one set at this time, should I replace the front or back? (2) How can I tell if the shocks are really bad? (I assumed they are not any good in a 20 year old car) Thank you |
Shock Test
Bounce each corner of your car...If the car only rebounds to the starting position then the shock is good. More than just a single rebound tells you that the shock needs replaced....some of the Bilsteins last for 200-300K...If you need a set of low mileage shocks for a 123, I have all 4...Jim
