Mass air flow circuit
I own a 98 E300 Turbo. The check electronics message came on as well as the Check Engine light.
My OBD reader indicated trouble code P0100. P0100 code means there is a Mass por Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction. Any ideas on what I should look for to correct the problem? Any help will be most appreciated. Garth |

We had similar problems with ford town cars that had racked up several hundred thousand miles in daily airport limousine service. On certain cars the damned idiot lights would glow for no apparent reason.
Since back seat customers such old ladies might get upset at seeing "check engine" ligts glowing on the dashboard over the driver's shoulder, our service tech came up with the brilliant idea of putting black electrical tape over the annoying indicators. Never mind the gobble-de-gook, "volume air flow circuit malfunction" probably just tells you that some kinda variation has occured in the amount of air your turbo charged engine happens to breathing..... that's my guess. Another possibility is that the sensor which triggers the annoying idiot lights has finally died so you might not have to worry about "volume air flow" at all. |
