E300DT: 1998 vs 1999

I am currently looking at a '98 E300DT and I would like to know the majors improvements between the '99 versus the '98 version.
Thanks,

Their the same car.

Same car, very few differences. The '98 had MB-tex upholstery standard, with leather optional. The '99 had a leather/tex combo standard, with full leather optional. I think the '99 got a new/different radio; don't believe it's really any better.

The relatively new five-speed automatic transmission was still going through some maturing at that time. A '99 probably includes a few updates from the factory that may or may not have been done to a '98 by a dealer. Pretty minor issue, however.

I can't think of anything else between the two. Just go for the best condition/mileage/price/records car you can find. Don't worry about the year.

Other differences:

99 has side curtain airbags

99 has the fiber optic link to the stereo

99 got slightly better EPA MPG ratings (hmm...not sure if that was tweaking of tranny/chip programming or a "real" change)

Thanks everybody.
The '98 E300DT only have 50,000 miles.
It's my cousin's car.
The car was driven only 6 months a year (in storage during winter here in Canada...).

Wow that sounds like a nice one! Just to give you an idea on value their was a 55k miles mint 98 or 99 listed at a local dealer for $26k US.
