An Apology to Wolf Walker

W.W.,

I owe you an apology for my public excoriation of you ,about your inquiry about rebuilding master cylinders.

Mercedes Benz service C.D. #2 , job number 0315 is titled "reconditioning of
stepped master cylinders"

"Egg on my face, and difficulty speaking around the size 11 stuck in my mouth."

Accepted, and thank you.

I did purchase an OEM master cylinder rebuild kit off e-bay not too long ago. Comes in a nifty little plastic cylinder to ease intallation. Although my slight fluid weep ceased alltogether some 10K miles ago and I have still not touched it.

Not to dredge up a dead topic.. but whats the brand of the rebuild kit?

My 300CD is leaking between the tank and the master cylinder. Its likely just the grommets.

I was planning on snagging the master cylinder from my parts car and figure I could rebuild it while I was in the process.

I've been searching but can't seem to find anything usefull.

Once again, it would be nice and more logical to place this at the end of the thread in which the " excoriation" happened... so that people reading only that thread would have the updated information...

You of course are correct. My mistake. Please ignore this. The correct thread is
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=89905&highlight=cylinder

or even possibly

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=89883&highlight=cylinder

Likely I'll just buy a rebuilt unit from FastLane.

James, I was speaking to Compress Ignite about the first post... we could all go over there in order and post what we said in this one..( except me as that would not make sense )....

I hate books which have the last chapter torn out of them..
I love nice tight stories which include the Ending.
I also hate jigsaw puzzles which are missing some pieces...

I know the mechanics of finding it. AFAIK it is not there (using Compress Ignite as the writer).

Edited:

James Stein has provided the link:

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=89883&highlight=cylinder

I did not go back that far.

Sourced the rebuild kit from e-bay. It's so nifty looking, in it's little german wrapper, I kinda hate to use it.

Plus the MC quit leaking(go figure).
