I really want this car, but price is too high for me to afford. Only 60,000 miles(?)

There was one on traderonline within the last month in Phoenix. I think you will have to get very lucky to find a nice one cheap, we all want one.

Not much of a description, few pix, and a negative feedback. I would be very careful buying anything from this guy. i like to see 100% good feedback, lots of pix and a lengthy description. And then I would go look in person just to be sure.

Cheers,

Bill

And then there is the sentence in the add that states "Mileage may be more than 60K......"

I would be very careful buying a car from a person that does not KNOW how many miles are on the car.

If it were a one owner car with records and a verified 60K miles from a person with perfect feedback it might be worth the $6,500 - as it is now I'd be very, very carefull.

I didn't see 'mileage may be more". The negative feedback and shortage of pix was enough to scare me off. Would not even go look after the "mileage may be more" statement.

Cheers,

Bill

I would want that car (or just a 190D 2.5 5 spd), but i'm not getting it cause i'm not going to Fl to pick it up. A 5 spd in my 300D will suffice too, but too much work

Here it comes again?

The auction linked to in the opening post now shows as "invalid, still pending, or no longer in our database" on eBay.

Searching on "190D" turns up what appears to be the same car in a new auction.

For my own curiosity, I'd love to know the real history and current condition of this car, but I'm not interested enough to actually try to do the research.

The item description leaves a lot to be desired - no mention of history or records. If a car is being offered with 60k miles, I'm accustomed to hearing at least some sort of story to explain it.

Why didn't the 190 get flush headlights in 86 like the E and S sedans?

I think that was a "2nd generation" thing. For example, all the W126s from 1980-1985-86 had the same headlight. The 87 and up W201s and W126s had the flush headlights. But it really doesn't matter, a pair of euros always looks best

Very interesting, but I no longer had relatives in Ft. Lauderdale to check it out.

Too bad, I'd like to have a milage champ like that for driving to work.

I also didn't know that the 2.5L NA engine was sold here, thought it was just hte turbo/automatic version.

I checked with the guy on the first posting--he said the speedometer/odometer was broken when he bought it and then he fixed it.

Then he re-posted. Nothing said about the odometer or the mileage.

Sounds like a shyster to me.

I really want a 190D manny tranny, but this one may have 250,000 miles on it!!!!
