OK then why are you driving a German car? WW2 has been over for a long time. A Toyota probably has more American made parts then a Ford now.

Mercedes are not to bad to fix, come on I'm going to college and working two crap jobs. I would really like a car like yours it would be cheap to run once you get those problems fixed. What ever you do don't fall into the new car trap!!! Don't take out a loan of any kind!

I lived in Boston for three years and my rover performed fantastically while the amg was simple dangerous. I didn't own a diesel up there.

A 90-94 Classic Range Rovers trade for less than your car is worth and decent truck sells for probably 4-8k maybe les in your area because of rust. I saw a fantastic 93 lwb range rover trade for 7k on ebay. I had to use some serious restraint from buying, but I knew my wife would divorce me, I already have one...

At any rate if your interested internet search for Rovers North in New England (I think it's in Maine, maybe Vermont) anyway they would be able to direct you further about the trucks in your area (They are the largest parts deal for rovers in North America) and they do sell them too to locals.

Theres now a 90% chance that the TurboDiesel is going to be up for sale, so if anybody's interested dont hesitate to let me know.

Poor quality, overpriced, expensive to service, insane parts delay-wait time.
I have been Underwhelmed by the Range Rover.

Mechanical Reliability, is in my opinion poor.

If it was 1950's, 1960’s or early 1970’s my opinion would be different.

I think that is a common misconception about Range Rovers. Not all rovers are created equal. For example you would have to pay me to take a Land Rover Discovery, and you would to pay me a lot if it was a mid 90s version.

However the early to mid 90s range rover is a good truck. Simple to work on, excellent four wheel drive, great in the snow, and all around good vehicle, however very poor gas mileage. Parts are not a problem many third part suppliers to choose from Rovers North, Atlantic British, East coast Rovers, on and on all of them have online sites and the people that work at these places are knowledgeable and nice. There is also a strong community supporting these vehicles similar to the Mercedes community with this online form.

I should know I have restored a 1964 Land Rover Series IIA, and I own a 1991 Range Rover since it was new. That’s not to say it hasn't broken down on me, it has twice, but it was always my fault because I neglected the car.

Or just make it easy and get a late model Jeep Cherokee with the inline 6. cheap, easy to work on and bullet proof engine and drivetrain. mileage will be pushing 20. Parts are everywhere since they basically didn't change them alot for almost 20 years. Can you get any more american than a Jeep? The inline 6 is a great engine, lots of torque, decent mileage and will run 200,000+ miles if cared for at all. Not to mention they hold their value better than exploders.
