After Glow Plug Warm Up - - -Nothing
This has happened several times. I turn the key and watch for my glow plug light to go out, I then turn the key to the start position and no sound, no nothing. I will then recycle the ignition and try again. Sometimes it starts and other times nothing. If I start the car 5 times per day it may happen 3 or 4 times in a week. I've seen a part called a "cold engine lockout switch", what does this do? Could this switch be stuck and therefore no crank? Any advice would be helpfull...

Your starter is most likely dead. It does this hot doesn't it? Is what I do is carry a bar in my back seat for now and when it does it, pop the hood and give the solenoid on the starter a couple good bangs. It should then crank.

I would look at the components that complete the starting process(not in order)
1) Neutral Safety Switch - found on ur transmission box 2) Starter - do u hear a click or nothing 3) Solenoid - could be worn out 4) Battery - do u have head lights, check battery with amp meter Turn ur key on and check if u have headlights , turn off ur head lights. Try Starting, if ur battery is weak, it may give some slow turns. If u hear a click or clicking sound, ur starter or solenoid could be suspect. If no sound at all, pop open ur hood and locate the small black box on ur right fender. There r 3 connectors on it. Use a wire and jump the 2 furtherest connectors from the battery. If it starts, ur Neutral Safety Switch is the problem. |

DEAD silence
When this occurs I hear nothing... No clicks, nothing. After a few tries then all goes normal. It isn't heat related, I drove 30 miles shut her down, waited 30 seconds, cranked right up. I then waited 10 more minutes, started like a champ..????
