Dash lights went out...?
I think I screwed up and am unable to fix my accident. I was poking around under my dash looking at where to install some hidden stereo equipment, and I somehow klutzed out and pulled a black wire from somewhere, and now it is hanging down by my left foot, just above the hood release and e-brake handle. Now the dash lights dont work.
Problem now is...I cannot find the spot from where the wire was once attached. This must be a ground wire. Does it matter where I attach it? |

MB ground wires are brown. Don't randomly ground a black wire!

So it was not a dumb question. Thanks.
Now, to figure out exactly what that dangling little bugger is...and what exactly happened to my dashlights. |

What type of car is it? Which lights are not working? Are all the instrument panel and switch lights out? How about the switch lights on the center console? When all of my 123 "dash" lights went out,it was because of a toasted circuit on the white circuit board behind the "oil pressure, temp, fuel guage". If you don't find the problem otherwise, you might try removing the instrument cluster and visually inspecting the white circuit board behind that section of the panel.
