123 Tail light from a Parts Car?
My 17 year old son just completed his physics experiment by studying the impact of the left rear of my '85 300D with a fire hydrant.
 His conclusion was that the taillight assembly gives before the steel hydrant. Anybody have a left rear taillight assembly for a 123? I would also need the trunk trim at the bottom lip. Finally if anyone has any ideas how to get the left rear quarter panel to move about 1/4" to the left, I am all ears. When the trunk closes there is no gap at all at the rear left and the trunk is forced to move about 1/8" to the right.  Any help would be appreciated. I might be able to post some pictures later. I thought I would try you guys before venturing into EBAY.

Pictures would help...
and place some tape at the point farthest forward at which you can tell it is out of line...

I take some photos later today. There is no obvious crease. Just imagine a direct hit at the tail light and the metal just above. It pushed the trunk in just enough to pull the left panel around. I will post photos.

I actually think I might have the particular light assembly that you are after. There is only one problem...I am at college and the light is at home. But, if you can't find any other ones, let me know and I may be able to arrange something with my brother to ship it to you. Are you talking left looking from the back or front?
