part cross

would a set of 75-78 Mercedes 300D diesel new main bearings. Fit a 1976 240d using less bearings that is having left over parts because it is a 4 cyilnder engine are they otherwise the same as 240d bearings?

I believe so, but you will have to test them to see -- use plastigage to check for oil clearance.

Also check to see that the thrust bearings are correct for your engine (#2 main, I think). I'm not sure if those are the same on the two engines.

Thank you there is a real good deal on them right now but there for the 5 CLY but are cheaper then the four CYL save a buck get a spare works for me.
