Trans shifting weird ?????
Thanx to Diesel Giant!!!! I was reading his page at http://dieselgiant.com/mercedes_diesel_maintenance_tips.htm
And he had some great info on the Vacuum Valve, the little black on box on your valve cover. I checked my vacuum valve levers and the top one was worn away, and the bottom one is close behind it. Ordered new levers from FastLane. Will let you know the outcome. Thanx again Diesel Giant !!!!!

That box is a frequent leak but the effect of its leak isn't that big on the shifting. If it is bleeding it off way to fast then it will cause harsher shifts but for the most part it shouldn't affect it all that much.
I contest his definition of this valve, "Transmission vacuum valve [...]." It is not there for transmission vacuum, it is there for the EGR valve. Yes it may minutely effect the shifting of the transmission but 90% of that is the result of the little white bleeder valve on top of the IP.
