Talking Just Bought The 79 300sd!!!

So...

the owner took the offer of $2600 for the 79 300sd (described under "pre-purchase questions"!)

you guys were so informative and helpful so I have to give you all a big thanks!

as well, am taking the car tomorrow morn to MB Motors in Tarzana, CA (Enrique himself answered the phone) to look over and fix the things suggested by the local MB mechanic (in Hollywood, CA).

am very happy to join the club!

Fantastic-

But pay attention here and get your hands dirty. You have a very user-friendly car. Its easy to do a lot of the work on these cars- like changing the fluids and filters, brake work, transmission adjusting etc. All the answers are here - just ask.

Save your money for the bigger things (like suspension work) that require special tools , experience or guts.

LOL! I was just trying to figure out how to post pictures as well.

just attaching jpegs? is there a link on here or a moderator on here that can help?

by the by, for those out here in So Cal, Enrique at Mr. MB Motors is great! I just drove in this morning, no appointment, and after a nice conversation about 2 300sd(s) that he traded for his MBZ wagon a year or so ago and sold within 3 days(!) (all because of some people on this site), he took the car in, noted what needed to be done, and then offered a few niceties: a new interior bolt for the grill (slightly loose when the hood opened), steaming clean the engine and hoses (no cost) so that later leaks coud be more easily detected, etc., (no cost!)

longish drive to get to him (i live in Hollywood) but wonderful recommend!

as soon as i get the car (no name yet) shined and waxed, will try and figure out the whole photo thing.

posting photos is.............

...........a piece of cake.

After you type your standard reply to a post, drop down to the bottom of the page. It will say "Additional Options"

Below that will say "Attach files"

In that section will be a button that says "Manage Attachments"

Press this button and a new window will open.

It will say "upload file".

There will be a box that will say "file to upload".

You probably do not know the file name of the file that you wish to upload, so, just press the "browse" button next to the box.

You can now search your own computer for the file that you wish to upload. Presumably you have stored your photos somewhere on the computer where you can find them. Select the file name and it will appear in the window.

Press "upload file".

It will take a few seconds and the file will be on the M-Shop servers.

If you have more than one photo, you can repeat the "browse" process and upload additional photos.

You then can go up to your post and submit it and the post with the
photo(s) will appear.
