Oh.. Thats bad... You don't know what car you have, what its specs are, or how to spell 'excellent'. You think its worth 5000, and you don't have time to take its picture.

Sign me up! Sounds like a sure thing to me!

Actually, someone has already bid on it...

One thing I hate is when people forget that online, unlike in a newspaper, you can put as MUCH info as you want. I can't stand reading ebay descriptions or forum For Sale posts that read:

82 300d 180k run good no rust $2k obo

ITS THE 21st FREEKING CENTURY, you aren't paying by the word!!! I like ads and ebay listings that have 40 pictures and meticulous descriptions of every part of the car. There is no such thing as TOO MUCH information, I'll just skim anything I'm not interested in reading.

The internet is not just a newspaper you can see on your TV, it's SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT!! Err.. Sorry, rant over.

Crazy people out there, man. Crazy.

peace,
sam

It could be more pathetic

He knows how many cylinders it has. A lesser dork might have chosen 4 or 6.

Also, observe that he DIDN"T say "barely broken in...these cars go for at least a million miles."

But you are right, if you can't show us a picture, don't set a minimum price. If you were living wherever he is and could inspect it, it MIGHT be worth the trip, though the odds are against it.

Meeting this guy might be entertaining, but then maybe not.

Just remember, Sam, that it doesn't take a genius to push metal for a living.
Some of the e-bay dealers use quite a bit more verbiage however, they simply copy from a previous listing. No more truthful info on the vehicle, but, the listing looks a whole lot better.

Or worse still, how about when one seller steals digital pics from another listing so you dont even see the car you think you're bidding on? I think someone here busted a seller doing that on 115 240D...

LOL. That happens all the time with Aprilias.. A guy on the aprilia forum I frequent posted a while back saying he saw a photo of HIS bike on ebay! Someone had jacked the pictures from his website and put them up with their listing. Thats what you get for being a good photographer, I guess.

peace,
sam
