Where do I get hot water for my fuel preheater: 85 300D
Its winter.
I have one of those shell heat exchanger fuel preheaters for my 85 300D which I am connecting to the fuel supply line. To make it fit, I am going to chop off about 8 inches of the fuel feed line and run the supply line to the heat exchanger inlet and the heat exchanger exit line to the prefilter. The closest warm water hose on the IP side of the engine in the region is the hose leaving the cylinder head by #5 cylinder and which then heads into the firewall in conjunction/confusion with the heater/monovalve pumbling. Well the dumb question is the one you dont ask, I dont want to mess with the heater/monovavle heater hosing unless its okay---so is it okay? Using this heat exchanger with a block heater might not prevent me from freezing up like I did once, but it should cut my chances drastically.... Surprise letter to my daughter in her yearbook: Dear “Steppher” Hey little buddy, do you really have to go to college? Why did you have to grow up so quickly? I always was scared of this day ever since you were a kid. It’s just not going to be the same without having you in my Life every day to talk to and joke around with and hearing your loud laughter and listening to you stumbling around the kitchen at two in the morning talking to someone on the phone or coming in to your room at four am to put a blanket on you and see you snuggled up like a little bunny rabbit sleeping… It’s not going to be the same when I go to Pep Boys or Home Depot, looking over at the passenger seat and not seeing you there for the first time in 17 years. It’s not going to be the same having to drive you around and drop you and your friends off and pick you up at the Mall or the movies. You are more then welcome to stay home a few more years and just hang around and sleep late and play on the Internet and call your friends all hours of the night and watch TV until 3 in the morning .….. Look think, it over, we can make a deal. Seventeen is kind of young to be leaving home already. Maybe thirty seven is a bit more reasonable. Why don’t you live at home and go to college? I’ll even buy you your own car. And when you get married and have kids, you can still live here, okay? With Tears, Dad |

Ditto on my 82 and 85 MB's. Standard setup for WVO conversions.
It should not present any problems. Stephen

my 1982 300TD has some kinda valve on that line. Does anyone else have a valve?
I think it's closed off right now. It's not a 3-way. Just an on/off valve with a little handle. Anyway I don't get any in car heating, but in S texas I have not really been motivated to look into it.
