What do you guys think about this one? If it doesn't sell I may try to see it this weekend. Not far from where I live.

Well, if a person had a wagon with a very nice body, but a blown engine, and were having a hard time finding an intact wagon engine out of a wrecked wagon, maybe they'd shell out more for it, and part out what they could from the body and interior. But I have to say, I wouldn't pay $2000 for something with that much rust and that beat up on the inside with any intention of actually driving it. Who would treat a Mercedes that roughly?

Car runs with a Jump Start
Deeph8, When you check that heep out let us know. They state its been in storage, but when you look at all the dirt and leaves around the engine, it looks as though it's been stored under a Oak Tree with the hood up. Also they state it runs well. I notice in the picture ,what appears to be Jumper Cables attatched. I know it's minor, but man if your trying to sell something for $2000., at least throw some "magic water" on it. The car appears to be a parts car. I think we're looking at another E-Bay scammie with that price.

And what about the tailgate rust? Could be a sign of more in places not photographed. 133k and rebuilt tranny already? That should be an indication of how well the car was taken care of. If 133k is right.... Of course its not uncommon for these cars to go over 500k Cheers, Bill |

It sold. How about this one?
Believe it or not, somebody paid $2,000 for the 1983 wagon on ebay. Here is another local listing that I am considering. It is a 1987 300d with over 300,000 miles. Being sold by son of original owner. Comes with service records, some dents, overly tinted windows and 15" wheels (not the ones in the picture). He says only Amsoil has been used in the tranny and motor. It had a wool interior that is now covered with sheepskins. Radio not included. Runs great, passed leak-down test but hard to start when it is below zero outside (he said he thought it was cold start valve (do diesels have a cold start valve?)). Price is negotiable.
