eBay again: what is up with this $26 hood pull?

This is a part that you can buy at the dealer for less than $10. These people have bid it up to $26 with $6 shipping, why? It hurts to watch.

Thats a good dealer, but those bidders have a few screws loose themselves.

I got a brand new NOS vdo reostat for a W116 dask last month from that guy for $34 I think it was, mine was getting touchy. That was agood deal, this auction is going for way more than its value.

Because they need one and don't know any better. They assume that because it's a Mercedes, that the part cost that much and will beat themselves over the head later on when they find wonderful resources such as our forum and find out different.
