You can also use the alarm to control other outputs too with your own relay like an automatic pepper-spray misting of the interior when the alarm is tripped AND someone tries to start the car! Whoops...., uh..., I would never do anything like that...., or recommend it to anyone...., uh...., just an example you know.

Mmm... It looks like the Crimestopper CS2011 IV might be the way to go... Its got the alarm, the remote start (w/ diesel features), and the keyless entry, for less than 100$. I'm seein' 85$ at retail shops, and as low as 77$ 'buy it now' on Ebay.

Sounds like fun, might be a good x-mas present. Of course, I'd still need an actuator for the door to use the keyless entry, but the remote start could be nice on the cold winter days...

peace,
sam

Any ideas on setting up a low buck remote preglow. I just want to be able to start a single preglow cycle, that would cut off with OEM timer.

The actuators are $4 each. The same guy I bought my alarms from sells those too and will include with package.

mandsenterprise on ebay. Seems to have a run of bad feedback this month, but he still has a 99.3% positive and 16,000 or so feedback. Name is Michael. Good guy. Always helpful to me and sends stuff fast.

Mack, that should be cake. You'll just need an extra relay (bought about anywhere including CSK auto parts.)

That relay will be controlled with the remote start or door unlock and will trigger 12v to the glow plug relay feed. Haven't done it myself, but I'll have to try that now. Theoretically, no reason it should not work except for the time the relay sees 12v. I think the MB relay just needs a short trigger, but if it needs more time to turn on, there are timed outputs that you can adjust. If nothing else, a simple breadboard 555 timer circuit would do it.
