Joining the Diesel Group

Unless this sale goes badly, I will be, for the first time in my life, owning a diesel car.

Woohoo!! Another potential biodiesel user comes of age!

Let us know how the deal goes down, but I think that's WAY too nice of a car for anyone "I" know to own!

Congrats!!!

Congratulations,

I hope all goes well. I know if you buy the car for that price and it is a straight shooter as it looks in the photos, it is an absolute steal.

Welcome to the diesel discussion board. Pull yourself a chair and come sit with the group.

We hope that we can help you in your ownership of these fine Mercedes diesel cars. The car you bought had barely 3K models imported into the US, if that.

Good luck in the future, and if you ever have problems, you know where to turn.

This car takes Biodiesel too? I know some GMs and Fords have provisons for some of their cars to be Flex Fuel Vehicles and can take E-85 (85% ethanol, I think) fuel.

Willie Nelson runs his 2005 e320 on 100% biodiesel (but he lives in a clime that he can get away with it.) But..., your car will purr like a kitten on B20!

Quote:

"...Willie had his 2005 Mercedes
E320 CDI shipped from the dealer in Honolulu with only enough petro fuel to
get it to the PacBio pump. Both Willie and Annie Nelson drive on B-100 and
are big supporters of biodiesel."

aklim 11-27-2004 09:51 AM

I only know of the diesel at the pump for now. What is it? B20? Where do you get these other diesels besides the gas station? What are the advantages of going Biodiesel or whatever?

Do a search on Biodiesl in this forum it's informative.

Only complains I have about this car is that the driver side headrest motor seems sticky and has to be pushed upwards to make it work. Also the starting seems hard. You can start it right after it has run for a bit and then you shut it down and try start it up even after the glow plug light goes off and it stumbles and once in a while dies out but mostly will catch after about 5 seconds of stumbling and having the check engine light. I will post this as a help question. Any ideas?

go to end of block on the right. go into store and ask for biod. it is pumped from a seperate tank in back. they have straight biod called b100. this is 100% biodiesel

all other b2, b5, b10, b20 are a percentage of biodiesel mixed with regular diesel. still a very good product but lets be fanatical here and use b100. its 3.41 a gal after taxes.

If I wasn't raining, I would have done it. Besides, I had the wife drive the Suburban behind me. We got in to Chicago and bought the car and I had to granny it home because the wife didn't want to drive 90 in the rain. Ocasionaly, I would bring it up to 80 in spurts but I had to keep it at 75.

aklim 11-27-2004 08:22 PM

So, what is the big deal about biodiesel anyways? What will it do for my motor? Is it as good as diesel but cheaper? Will it hurt anything in the motor? What will I notice?

83-240D 11-27-2004 08:37 PM

quiet your motor somewhat.
it will provide better lubricity than diesel due to its base ingredient which is veggie oil mixed with lye and menthanol. the meth will clean out any crud in your tank. the bio d will remove carbon and coke from the ignition chamber walls helping your engine run better and longer.
it has about 66% less evil emissions than dino diesel and that alone is good.

is b100 at over a buck twenty more than diesel worth it? only you can decide.

the bio blends should be only pennies more than regular diesel.

go to www.veggieavenger.com this woman is all about biodiesel.
