Hatterasguy vs Alan Hamm - where does it stand?

Someone should be taping this reality show.

I feel neglected when no one mentions my 335k SDL.

Did I offend anyone?

I should pass 250k before Christmas, I'm at 248,500 today and about 500 a week is normal. Not bad for a 'beater' I bought in June, 2004...

However, Plantman rules!

My car is running great after the rebuilt tranny, although I have to bring it back to the indy who rebuilt it.

When applying the throttle gently it shifts perfect, but when I step on it, it shift real fast from 2 to 3rd gears.

Hopefully it's a minor issue.

Have a great weekend.

Hey Plantman,

I think I remember somebody posting that the Bowden Cable is 'backwards' on the SDL from the SD, in that a 'tighter' cable makes the trans shift later, not sooner.

Have you tried any adjustments to the cable to see if that's what you need?

My transmssion is original, and shifts a bit soft at any throttle position. I think the Previous Owner wanted a smoother shift and someone dropped the shift pressure, since I can't get a really firm 1-2 shift even if I disconnect the vacuum line. One more thing to play with some day, it's OK for now.

My goal is to the moon and back, which is 238,832 x 2 = 477,664.

It's a goal, not a quest...

Best Regards,
Jim
