North Carolina SDL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a fairly cheap SDL.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=173904180&dealer_id=&car_year=1987&search_type=used&make=MB&model=300SDL&transmission=&distance=any&address=80301&only_price=&advanced=n&certified=n&max_mileage=&max_price=5000&asl=&min_price=&first_record=1&end_year=1987&start_year=1981&drive=&engine=&body_style=&advcd_on=n&=&fuel=&doors=&color=&cardist=1407

I wish I were in NC.

I talked to the guy just now. 260K on the clock. Has all service records, thick as a phone book. His wife is the second owner. All service records add up to $22K (sounds like what Hattie's records are going to end up looking like!) Includes rebuilt tranny, replaced head and an entire AC rebuilt. Claims zero rust, no rips in interior, no cracks in dash, no oil leaks, cruise works. New tires, going to paint the wheels, new floor mats. Sunroof needs to be adjusted-?- says you have to fiddle with the switch to get it right.

The miles scare me, but the records draw me back in... I like low miles, I like records, and I like a cheap price. I want the world and I don't want to pay for it!

Anybody in NC feel like taking an SLD for a ride?

B

So is it SDL or GAS?

The add says gas for a fuel type.

I may be in GSO in the next two weeks, or so, on business. The miles look a little too high for me.

I'll PM you if I go that direction. I always like to test ride.

It also says 30mpg in the ad, I'd heavily assume its not a gasser then. If it was gasser he'd have to say like 9mpg Although I think 300sel's are rated 15 city 19hwy, not too bad, I want to look into getting one eventually...it can be my "fast" car

I think my car is getting a reputation on this site!
Sounds like a nice one though price, mileage, and service records sound about right.

It's diesel. It was just a mistake when he placed the ad. Screwed up in the pull down menu or something.

It mentions in the ad that it is an SDL. 300SDL is diesel, 300SEL is gas!

If it is all that they say it is, that is not a bad price, and with a newer head, this car may be around for as long again! BB

b,

I will be in Greensboro today and may be able to help. Does the owner live in Greensboro proper or an outlying area?

Reverse Phone directory, I love it! You can even map it. http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/phonenumber/phone/index.html?number=336-674-7891

I'm sorry I can't call him, I'm at work and I don't want to use my company's long distance for personal reasons.

Go ahead and shoot me an email from this site if you need to know more. Thanks Klaus.

Brandon
