Plastic interior parts needed--'85 300td

I need the plastic that fits along the ceiling, where the light is, in the back. Open the hatch and look up. Thats the part.

I also need the two plastic pieces that goes down along the side of the rear a-pillars.

Palamino color, not sunfaded.

Damage resulted from the boobs that put in a moblie phone years ago before I owned it. The rest of the car is great and I would like to make it 100% again.

BTW--I have checked local bone yards and the ones I could find were sun faded or the wrong color.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Bill

I'd make it easy on myself and get the ones from the junkyard regardless of color and vinyl dye them the correct color. I did it with the faded stuff in my own interior and it looks great.

I somehow knew someone would mention that.

Does your dye match properly? If so, where did you get it?

The dyes I've seen don't match that well.

Cheers,

Bill

I saw a set of those on **************.com only yesterday. Palomino colored even. Evidently, they are starting to handle used parts as well.

Shops that cater to the Autobody trade can custom mix dyes as well as paint. By doing an electronic color read of a part to match.

I had sun faded paint matched so well you could not tell new from old.

Palomino's not such a difficult color to match, unless you are going for Concours. My Dad found the stuff I used, it was not duplicolor crap it was something else, more expensive.

Well, it just so happens my car is getting a very expensive paint job after Christmas and I'll see if they can throw that in with the job.

Now I gotta get back to the bone yard to see if the parts are still there. Knowing my luck, they'll be gone. Its been a month or so since I was last there.

Cheers,

Bill

Vinyl dye that many wrecker's use to make "the only brown/blue/ beige one in the state". Of course, the part started out grey or some such with a price 1/3 of what he's now asking.

I've used the stuff and it really is close to MB colors when you pick the right one (med grey is perfect, for instance.)

OK--I'll check it out.

Would rather DIY than pay someone for something I can do myself.

Thanks for the link!!

Cheers,

Bill
