Original Owner SD in Santa Cruz

Somebody might want to pick this cream-puff up if it's for real.

Too far for me though.

Yeah. At frist I thought, "oh man, I don't really like that color red." And then I thought, "you're being an idiot. Be picky about the things that matter (which I'm trying to be) not bull***** like color." But then again, I'm in it for the long haul. So I guess I should like how it looks. And then again, "you're an idiot." So I emailed about it.

Let's see if it has records.

Yes I have all the service records from day one and no there is not any rust as this car has always been in California. The only thing wrong with it is that the airconditioning does not work. The body looks almost new and there was one small accident many years ago when somebody rearended it. The repairs were so minor that the offender paid for the repairs herself without even notifying her insurance company. We have put on less than 1000 miles per year for the last 9 years.

The mechanic told us that it was probably the compressor. The symptoms were that we had to recarge the Freon every year for the last couple of years until we get tired of doing it.

Sounds like a great car and I hope someone here on the forum gets it.

If it was close enough to me, I'd grab it. Rust buckets here in the salt belt.

Cheers,

Bill

Somebody bought it already. I'm hoping it was someone here too. It looked pretty nice.

But one finally popped up here at home. Some original owner less than 150K on it. But it's a dealer. Of course "everything works." That's about all he said about it. I've yet to find a car where "everything works."

But we'll see. Dealing with dealers can be fun. I love to point out you said this, but actually it's this. And they just stare at the tires.

The dealer means everything he checked works. He didn't road test nor did he check all the windows, only the drivers window. But evrything he checked works.

Bill

HAHA! I'd be surprised if he even checked that! He couldn't tell me a damn thing besides "it's a very nice example" of a diesel Mercedes. Everytime I asked about something, AC, ODO, cruise, "Everything on this car works."

Well I certainly plan on checking the accuracy of that statement.

A very nice example compared to what???

Has he thrown in the 500k statement yet??

Hope you don't have to travel too far. Lets us know how it works out.

I ran four hours one way and, after asking on the phone about the paint being original, got there to find the bottom half of the car, all the way around, had been very obviously repainted.

So good luck....

Cheers,

Bill

Bill, this is our own private thread here!

No 500K statement yet, thank god. And it'll be less than an hour drive, depending on traffic. So even if it's crap and he's full of crap, it'll be worth it just to drive it and put another one under my belt for comparison purposes.
