300,000 mile rotors!?
Actually 302,932 - but who's counting? The service records I got when I bought it in 96 with 220K indicated that the rotors needed to be replaced when it was around 200K. There is 2-3 inches of records from the dealership from when it was new, but nothing about replacing the rotors. I knew they were beat, but until you pull them off, you don't see all of the inside I think my car deserves the new ATE power discs, don't you?

Welcome to the 300K club!
BTW, upon close inspection it appears as if the inner surface area is eaten away by rust. The outer area, where the pad contacts, still has a few miles left on them.
(Hopefully, the calipers have not been damaged by overextending.)

Wow! Although rears seem to last a long time.

Thanks guys. What I was trying to do here was a) inject some humor into the situation, b)point out that wear can be pretty severe without catastrophic failure and c)do like I say, not like I did and don't neglect it. Years ago when I should have checked it, I didn't realize how easy (and cheap) it is to just replace the rotors.

I keep reading on Ebay
These cars are known for running over a half million miles without engine work. Should apply to the rotors too, eh?

A family member of mine has about 250,000 miles on his Toyota Pickup, and the rotors and brake pads are still original, and not even worn out

What do you only drive open highway all the time?
Hell I drive mostly city and I have worn out 3 sets of rotors on my saturn. Never warped one, plain wore them out.
