Diesel under $2?

I just saw a station on my way to work this morning selling diesel for $1.99 a gallon! Not sure about its quality though (Phillips 66)

Thumbs up Cheap Diesel

As oil continues to spiral downward on the market, diesel also drops. I paid $1.95 at a Flying J truck stop Wednesday!! Truck stops seem to always be lower here. And I figure fresher fuel.

I saw a couple of stations drop under $2 a couple days ago. Let's hope the drop continues!

Still 2.19 at the corner station here. I would kill for 1.99.

Varies from $2.08 to $1.95 around here. Well, the $1.95 was NW of San Antonio last weekend....... most around here are $1.99.

$2.25 at the new Hess station that opened across the street from me. Only other diesel here is Getty and Texaco, both more money.

About $1.90 to $2.00/ gal. here. I've seen on the news (on-line) recently that oil prices took a $5/ barrel nosedive. It seems the speculators realized that there was not going to be near the "shortage/demand" originally dreamed of.

The Saudi's are raising their oil production by 14 percent again, which is probably buffering fluctuations elsewhere, and keeping prices stable (and lowering them on speculation). Remember that the saudi's pump at only a small fraction of their capacity, and if they open their taps, they can cause temporary fluctuations in oil prices that overshadow issues elsewhere on the planet. In fact, they have an obligation to do so for the benefit of US economy, since they still have financial obligations to us dating back to the gulf war.

Anyway, enjoy the cheap oil prices of the week, but in the long run, there is only one direction they can go.

Peace,
sam

P.S. In St. Louis, diesel is 2.15, and I pay about .50 cents a gallon to make biodiesel.

Jas2on,
the 66 at Griegos and 4th is $1.93. But getting to the pump is fun, make sure your not in a hurry. they are real busy there.
$2.09 in Los Lunas and still $2.15 here in Belen.
