Under the seat of my 500 SEL I found nothing but CLEAN. I don't thing anyone was ever in the back seat. Under the seat of the 300D I just got, I found several dollars in change in a sandwich bag and several dollars more in loose change. I put all the change in the bag and gave to the little son of the PO. He was so happy, IT MADE MY DAY. The last New car I bought was an 82 Buick Regal. While looking for a rattle, I removed the rear seat and found a half eaten sandwich, a coke can, candy wrapers, several bolts, a power window switch, and verious and assorted other junk. In the trunk under the mat was 2 more window switches, a power seat switch, and some empty sandwich bags (used). Remember, this was a NEW car. The rattle turned out to be a coke bottle in the RR quarter pannel. I asumed this car was the last one built by a disgrunteled employee. This was the worst car I have ever owned and the last NEW car I have owned.

Under the seats and carpets of the 85-- a little over $8.00 in change, a large comb, diabetic needles, pens, student ID card, check book/with blank checks, no smoking sign, thumb tacks, paper clips, and lots of dog hair (I had to shave the floor) Seriously though folks after I found the needles I used extra caution when I put my hands in hidden places on this car and I would advise everyone out there to do the same with a previously owned car.

Very good point...(literally!)
The no smoking sign and whatnot sounds like my car. The byproduct of a high school/college student enjoying good times

My latest Merc is a 1986 420 SEL in Smoke Silver with a Red Velour Interior, which I bought about 3 weeks ago. Under the drivers seat I found 5 playing cards from 2 different decks, and a key to a filing cabinet. There was nothing else in the car. In the boot (trunk) I found a toolbox containing a power drill and some drill bits, a foot pump, some screen wash, 2 bottles of petrol additive, a bottle of injector cleaner, a large can of WD40, various screwdrivers, chisels and pliers, a broken mole wrench, various screws, rawl plugs, a thermometer, paper clips, etc. etc. I contacted the previous owner and I said that he was welcome to come and collect his tool box (about 150 miles round trip). He said that it was not his tool box, and that he had no idea who it belonged to, so I get to keep it.
