There is a high milage but very good shape euro '85 230TE manual 5 speed here in Palm Beach for sale. It's RARE! "T"'s also came in a 200T, 250T, and 280TE versions. AMG made a 8 cylinder W123 wagon..... it may be on the prowl in your neighborhood :eek:

Had to say the RARE! thing- hope some one calls me out on this. At least it's rarer than a 2.5 turbo in conneticut ;) It may get this thread rolling

I wonder how hard it'd be to get an OM617 to mate to that tranny... :D I've got a good engine in a car that otherwise needs a lot of help...

Wonderful vehicle for touring Europe. Hitch up a camping trailer and you're set for a couple of years of exploring.

It's the same engine/tranny package that's in a 190E. So no it wont match. Woulda jumped on that like a roach on a PBJ sandwich bit on the kitchen floor.....

Makes me wonder why the seller is wanting to make sure the next owner is mechanically inlcined. BTW, the car also has rust around the wheel wells and the seller is only willing to deliver locally.
There was 240TD for sale locally, it was simply a 300TD with a 240D transplant motor. The owner said it was really slooooowww!

I'd love to have it's 5-speed in my 230CE, then I'd have that gear I keep looking for. :D
