Signs of Bad Motor Mounts?

What are signs of Bad Motor Mounts? I had mine replaced about 8 months ago. I beleive they're okay. I notice a small popping noise once I accelerate in a turn.

sloppy shut-down. feels like the engine is loose when its powering down. some is normal. I replaced mine (super easy), and the whole car felt tighter accelerating and decelerating. you can usually take a look at the mounts to see if they are torn. replace them if they do.

Hi,
I got a 95 E300D with 105K miles. I believe the motour mounts are original. At engine shutdown, the car has a little shake. When I start it up in the morning. I can a minute rattle coming somewhere from the cabin. Could it be the motor mounts are causing extra vibration.

This is a point on which I am not clear. If the mounts are not torn, are they good? Somewhere reading old threads I got the idea that some people were replacing mounts that looked good but did not perform properly.

Motor mounts for 603's are liquid filled, maybe gel, and the way I understand it, you must check the distance between the crossframe and the oil pan.

I think it 1-1/2" was OK, mine are down to about 7/8" since early fall and look fine but I have vibration now at the lowest rpm, but it does smooth out above 900 rpm. I plan to replace them in the spring. BB
