240d won't go in reverse after a transmission fluid change

I am looking at a 240d with an automatic trans. The owner had the trans fluid changed and now it won't go in reverse. This has to be something small and stupid. Does anyone know?

Probably

The question is, how long after the fluid change did the driver notice that reverse gear was gone. Immediately, or a month or a year?

I think 1977. W123 for sure. It sounds like reverse imediately sttopped after the fluid change, or soon after, anyway.

722.118. Do a search on "reverse band adjustment". The fluid change may have been coincidental

Verify trans is full. Engine at operating temp, idling on level surface, fluid should be between low and max full marking on stick.

Are you talking about that white one in Oakland listed on Craigslist. If I were you, I would buy it and put a 4spd in it when you get a chance. It's a one owner car with 157k and new suspension, and he only wants $600.00. What are you waiting for?
If I hadn't put that rebuilt engine in my car 2 months ago, that white 240D would be in my driveway right now.
