My 300D was in the standings to win best car at my school...
Hello everyone! This is my first post, and while I was looking through the forum, I remembered about that at my high school, the seniors had a survey to fill out about such things like who is most likely to succeed, or who has the best smile, and the one that I was most intereseted about was the "Best Car" topic. I drive a Yellow 1981 300D with okay looks (a few dings here and there, but overall shiny paint), and I felt that I might win seeing that all of my classmates drive such cars as Toyota Tacomas, Honda Civics, and Volkswagen Jettas. There were two obstacles in my way: The popular kids would vote for this one "gangster" person that drives a Pontiac Trans-Am (2002?), and this one person that has a stock Mitsubishi Galant (2003) with a loud sound system. I felt that I had a small chance seeing that the votes would get split pretty evenly seeing that my graduating class consists of 140 kids, and the entire AP class would vote for me, plus all other kids that knew I drive a Benz, which adds up to at least 45 seniors. I was broken hearted when I eard that I lost the person with the Trans-Am, but I know where the money's at, seeing that my car will probably still be running by the time I have kids, even if it doesnt stay in my family, if someone out there takes good care of it, it'll be just like knew. I just felt I should share this story to all Diesel drivers alike, that slow and steady might in fact win the race :-).
