I want my daughter addicted to diesel and laughing at gassers!!!
Must think of active vacation plans where she can hands on play with diesel!

When in Colorado we went on a train tour through the mountians, needless to say I spent most of my time up studying the 1950's Diesel Electromotive. The view was beautiful, in between the clouds of smoke of course

Hmmm

Wonder if one of my friends would drive the family to Ann Arbor in their Peterbilt for hands on museum and dinner. LOL

If she's into biodiesel, send her to the Grassroots Biodiesel Conference in Pitsboro, NC January 28th and 29th.

Moving or sitting diesel?

Moving: (a) Trustworthy friend or relative type to take her on a cross-country truck run. Will probably have to sign an insurance waiver (for the truck) and provide proof of health insurance (for her). Today, thanks to lawyers and insurance companies, it's a pain in the caboose to take a kid on a run but still worth it.
(b) A day on a working tug or pilot boat. Be carefull here: you may lose her heart to the sea and have a daughter in the Navy or Coasties someday.

Sitting: Take your pick. Injector shops are cool places.

There is a WWII oceangoing tugboat that is a part of the National Park Service. I believe it is based at Oswego on Lake Ontario. It has a massive and wonderful diesel engine with no transmission. The engine must be stopped and started in reverse direction in order to back up. Perhaps an internship on that boat is possible.

Here it is:http://www.hleewhitemarinemuseum.com/LT.html

I think she has to be 18 or older to buy cigarettes and diesel.

Europe!!

We take all our holidays at our home in Scotland, in a very agricultural area. Lots of big off road diesels and around 50% of all cars are oil burners.

Might check and see if you can get a tour thru the Cummins diesel factory in Columbus, Ind. Should be fun for you as well.

Well if you want her to go diesel just get her a short haircut and some comfortable shoes. Take away her dresses and makeup. Get her some steroids and membership at the gym.

I had to do a google search to come up with that stuff, I am really slipping on my politically incorrect stereotypes.

Diesel Vacation

For example see the Techno Classica, held annulally in my native city of Essen, Germany and the world's foremost exhibition and exchange of classic automobiles of all ages. I go every year and fall in love with something or I always buy something for the stable. Information at www.siha.de
