I lived in Germany for a few years, but that was over 30 years ago. I worked in Germany quite a bit in 2000 through 2002. What do you need?

Merry Christmas,

Larry, I was born in Heidelberg while my dad was stationed there. He pulled a total of three tours there during his 20+ years. I was along for two of them. Was so young my second time there that I only vaguely remember a few things.

I lived in Karlsruhe, Pforzheim and Hanau, plus during the summers I CONSTANTLY traveled mostly Germany and occasionally to other Western European countries to play baseball. In the Winter I "went up the hill" to work on radar.

Merry Christmas,

Wow... It's a small world after all....

I was born in Heidelberg too (my father was also in the service - He was stationed at the Taylor barracks by Viernheim).

I've also been to Karlsruhe a few times, although I mostly hung out in the Odenwald. Living in the flat part of Florida, I really miss those rolling hills sometimes that I had there. The last few years I lived in a small town founded over 1100 years ago, called Nieder-Liebersbach. There used to be an old roman tower at the top of a hill, that gave me a nice vista.

My mom is from Stutgart. My dad met her while stationed over there in the service. I've been to Germany many times visiting relatives. I also lived for a year in northern Germany near Oldenburg and Bremen and also another year in Munich. My family over there now lives on Lake Constance.

Merry Christmas,

My uncle lives in Radolfzell. I don't know if you're familiar with that town. It's very close to Konstanz. I was always amazed at the Germans who went swimming in the lake in the summer. I always thought it was freezing cold!

It is freezing cold, but the Pacific is freezing cold in the summer, but people swim there. It's a matter of getting used to it.

Lake Chimsee in the Munich area is also very cold, but when I was in Germany I swam and water skied in that lake. It's just a matter of getting used to it.

Merry Christmas,

I grew up in Munich in the 1960's, and lived a very nice area south of the city called Gruenwald that was on the east side of the Isar river. I used to swim in that river in the summer and that was cold. It is fed by melting glaciers and snow in the Alps. It is what you grow up with, so you get used to it like Larry said. Had my Senior Highschool Prom at the Chiemsee facility, and know that lake well. Jim
