Red face ALDA R&R disassembly, cleaning.

Where is it.
I have seen it before, but now I can't find it.
Could it have been in a thread that was removed???

Well if it was one I started in my previous incarnation as thevirginiadude it would have been removed, but alas it wasn't.

I do know the one you speak of but I don't know. I do remember seeing it a long time ago..

here's a step by step

http://articles.mbz.org/engine/diesel/alda/

I would like to know where to procure the seals for the ALDA- are these Bosch items or can I get them from Phil, or the dealer or what?

Try Phill first.

What exactly happens with the ALDA completely removed from the car....and then driving it... I thought about it and figure that it simply provides the absolute maximum amount of fuel that the ALDA was capable of supplying, except it does it at any speed/rpm. Right? How well does this work? Anyone tried it? Or does it just turn the cars behind you black and make mpg's fall to that of a 560SEL..... ?

I am looking to shim my ALDA at the very least, both of our cars have them backed all the way out CCW and still no smoke on take off even if you slam the pedal through the floor....

Anyone have the shims? I'd probably need enough to do major shimming on two vehicles... (I'd like to readjust the ALDA's to the normal setting and compensate with the shims)
