How do I fix the turnsignal on column?

How do I fix the turnsignal stick on the steering column? The signal does not click off after a turn unless it is a very hard turn. I assume it is worn out. I can hear a clicking noise, but it just stays on after a turn. Is this a hard repair? I suppose you have to go into the steering column?

There is an old thread out there somewhere complete with pictures. I think it was by Mike Tangas. I will see if I can find it. This is a pretty easy repair.

Edit: Here 'Tis:

Thumbs up

Great post! I have been dealing with the problem of having to manually returning to off after a left hand turn. Wow, I didn't know it was such an easy fix.
