'85 300D ACC Woes (compressor will not engage)
1985 300D Type III ACC
Pushbutton unit works fine, ran tests according to factory manual. Flaps open and close normally. Tach functions normally. Compressor stopped functiong today. #8 fuse is good, power on both sides. Pressure is good, no leakage detected. I "jumped" the low pressure switch, and the compressor will not engage. Checked the electrictal connections at compressor, they are ok. Looking at the factory manual, I see red/yellow tracer to compressor relay. Checked Klima relay by brake booster,(yes it has Klima printed on the relay, size of a cigarette pack), part number 001-545-74-05 and could not find a red/yellow tracer. I am thinking there should be a way to jump the terminals, possibly this could narrow down the problem. The schematic on the CD is about as useless as tits on a boar hog. The damm thing is barely legible. Any suggestions? Alan |

In my 1987 300D, if i jump the terminals 5 & 7 at the klima, this forces the compressor to work. I had to replace the compressor speed sensor (on the back of the compressor. It was not giving enough signal of the speed.
hope this will help |

how did you know there was not enough signal?
Can you tell me how you could tell there was not enough comp speed signal at the Klima?
