Exclamation FREE 1981 300D / Sussex Co N.J.

I'm looking to give away one of my older MB's, a 81 300D. It runs & drives, looks fair. It needs a center muffler & the steering has plenty of play. The sunroof doesn't work, nor does the a/c. Needs a new hood release cable. When cold, speedometer buzzes till it warms up? It is grey with ox blood *leather* interior, the leather is in pretty good shape. I believe the car has around 279,000 miles. Car has some rust, including a rusted d-side floor pan that has been bolstered by a piece of angle iron.

I would hate to junk her, it would be a good tinker car for some one with time on their hands, like a kid getting his license.

I also have a 82 300TD (wagon) that I might be talked into parting with.

I just don't have the time to tinker on these two extra cars, I have a hard enough time trying to find time to tinker with our four daily drivers.

I'm just outside of Newton, sussex county N.J.

If interested, contact by phone would be best @ (George) 973-300-0699.

**This is the car that I took to the first NJ diesel meet @ round valley about three years ago.

82 WAGON INFO

Several have PMed about the wagon, here is that info...

It's dark blue with tan *leather* (not tex) interior, it has the 3rd row seat. The car runs & drives (I have not started it in a year). It has some rust, nothing major. It looks fair+.

Steering has some play, it has vacume line issues, battery drains (short somewhere), I'll be taking the rear muffler for my other wagon, leveling system has a leak in the steel line under car (but works when you fill the system) I think its like a brake line repair. hvac doesn't work ( I took the blower).

I had something done to the front end, but never got around to an alignment. I replaced the levelling accumulators myself, system worked great untill the leak.

I'd be looking for $200 or b/o

As with the other car, I was hoping that someone local would take them. If you want either, bring a car dolly, I'm not sending out the titles only to be left with a car and no title if someone changes their mind.

George, i'll get in touch with you again tomorrow. This is a possibility for me if the car is road worthy.

Why do these have to be so far away? Sounds like a good parts source for my project.

No such thing as cheap houses in NJ.
Here in Sussex county they are less expensive
but certainly not cheap.
Depending on the budget you have.

I just moved to Hamburg from Bergen County and
a nice looking house under 250K is hard to find.

Hey George if you see an ivory wagon with a blue
driversided fender and both passenger doors also
blue then wave or/and honk because that's me.

Louis.

Heck....around me they are selling houses on 1/4 acre lots for $350 and up and they get tore down to build a newer bigger house within a month. THe houses htat don't get tore down cost a lot more.....the house next door on a smaller lot than mine without the garage I have went for $600,000 last month. And its basicly the same house as mine but in far worse shape.
