What is the most you spent on a single repair?

What is the most you have ever spent on a single repair for the Benz? It can be parts/labor or any combo.

$2500 to replace the #1 piston on the 86 SDL. Ran the car for 100,000 mileas afte that and was starting to develop low compression on #1 again. I think the previous owner hit the oil pan hard and caused the front seciton of the crank to be slightly out. the #1 piston had indications of oscilating on the bore. But that car is gone.

Oh yeah, another $150 for new windshield that got smashed by a guy with his skateboard after I punched him out when he shoved me at a gas station after a verbal altercation. Lucky I had my young son with me or the fury of it would have likely led me to running him down with the car as he was skating away and going to jail for vehicular homicide...

$2250 just for the ignition module on the E420, $1600 for a subframe mount, chain, rails, a cam & its lifters on the 420SEL, $1600 (+installation) for a rebuilt 617, and $1100 on the 280SE for a trans rebuild.

Dang it! Now that I see all of the $$ on black and white, I want to hurl.
