Grill Badges: Wadda Ya got/want?

I have been spending a little too much time recently trying to find the perfect grill badge for my car. It just needs something up there...

(Normally I would say that this is a very good sign that my car is in perfect order. Unfortunately, however, I am just waiting on an influx of capital to fund some R&R on my rear suspension...)

Anyway, What do you all have for a badge, or what would you like to find for your grill? Pics are always welcome.

-Matt-

(PS: what is the damn spelling anyway...is it grill or is it grille?)

Depends

If you are buying a hamburger, it's grill. On an automobile, even a lesser one than our beloved MB, it's grille.

Are they still doing the high mileage program? I've passed the mark for the first award, but the forms I have are atleast a few years old.

Doesn't matter. Just send them in. I had a really old form that I used.

authentic german road rally badges

I have ordered authentic German road rally badges from both these sources. The first is a really fantastic guy here in the states at http://germancarbadge.com/

The second source is a German fellow at eurobadge.org
I have just ordered the Lagenhagen badge from him.

I have put in my application for my mileage award. I want a badge with "Germany" on it. I will also buy other selected authentic German badges only as I find them.

The ones that are star shaped with the serraded edges that are silver colored are crap from China. Don't waste your money.

The ones from Germany are copper backed or brass backed and outlined in real gold. The enamel is poured into the copper picture and then baked. They will last for generations if polished and cared for.

Apparantly they are on "backorder." I ordered mine in June. The pin came, but not the badge or the certificate. I called about a month ago and they said both the cert. and the badge were sent before the pin was. They replaced the order and said they'd be here in 7-10 business days. It's been about 24 business days and no badge, no certificate. Will have to call them again.

I got the go ahead awhile back from both BENZMAC and BILL WOOD to make MBshop grille badges. Problem is I no longer am in the Detroit area. The Detroit area had numerous fabrication shops that I would've been able to work with. ASHMAN was gonna send me some of his designs for MBshop grillebadges but he never got around to it.

I would love to have an MBshop grille badge for my car. If anyone out there has access to a fab/metal working shop than please go for it! It would probably be best if you sent a PM to Bill Wood (I don't think Benzmac has much time anymore) and ask permission to produce MBshop grille badges. The previous consensus was a rousing YES! I'm sure you could sell quite a few of them.

Anybody else for an MBshop grille badge?

If you have access to anything like that, I'm sure you could make yourself some extra spending cash. Just get permission to use the MBshop logo and name from Bill Wood (webmaster). Once you advertised on here that you have them available, the requests will start pouring in.
