Of course, being a Mercedes, her window seals do leak, but a garage or tarp take care
CAR: '87 300TD FS on Craigslist $3800 OBO
Seller said: "Of course, being a Mercedes, her window seals do leak, but a garage or tarp take care of any moisture inside." Of course, I ask "Why not fix the window seals, maybe??" Of course, window seals in any car can leak if they need replacement. Duuuuh! see: http://www.craigslist.org/nby/car/55678537.html

I would bet the water is coming from another source than simply the window seals. If the windows are "up", they can't leak enough to be much of a problem, at least while parked. I bet the rear window seal is bad, and maybe a few other "normal" sources of leaks.
The seller's suggestion tells me what I need to know about hand the car.....stay away! |

Reality check-
I know that there is nothing more expensive than a cheap mercedes, but honestly, how many '87 300TD's do you see for sale anywhere ? I'd give it a look just becuase of its rarity (I am assuming that "North bay" is in califoria somewhere...) -John
