Look at THIS beast!!!

Boredom has me looking at diesel engines on Ebay.

Now, if I had any clue on what I could do with these, it looks like someone could make a steal of a deal with no reserve, and an idea of what they could do to turn a profit.

Not mine, but I wish they were!!

wow...imagine the size of a boat you could power with one of those...better yet, imagine the size of the boat it would take just to keep one of those above water

Reminds me of all those aero-engined custom cars built between WWI and WWII, like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Although I think the engines in that auction are too big to fit in anything short of an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Damn, wish I had a use for those.

Have been looking for a one lunger diesel to use in workshops and classes to start and run on biodiesel. Anyone have any ideas, I'm all ears.

Would be nice to find an IDI 4 stroke as that's principally what we're teaching, but anything in a small diesel would do.

And NO, I couldn't fit these into a classroom to use as "demo" engines! Besides, they'd probably turn my engine stand over

Tom

There are a number of Indian and Chinese made one lungers that fit the bill for you. Take a look at this:

Stationary Diesel

and the other items for sale by the same seller for examples. Also see Utter Power

Forget about using a stationary diesel to power a vehicle. For every one horsepower (925hp) that those engines on Ebay produce, they have about 65 pounds of weight. That's like having a 617 turbo that weighs 8,000 pounds!
