One year and almost 10k miles later...

Well I have had my SDL for just shy of a year, I bought her on the 22 if I remember correctly. It has been an interesting year, I have had a lot of good times in her and she has &(&()*^*(^(_ with me a little to. :D Just like having a demanding girlfriend. I have to say I still enjoy driving this car, everytime I need to go somewhere I look forward to the ride.

Here is a run down of what I have done so far:
I have put 10k miles on her since I started driving her everyday in very early June, I will probably do 15k by this June, or 18k if I go to Old Navy's meet. Wow the miles rack up!

I don't want to know what I have in her, I think about $11k-$13k including the purchase price. Throw in $2,400 for insurance. No wonder I am broke, 04 was an expensive year.

Considering how bad the poor old girl was when I bought her, she needed someone like me. A few more projects and I will have a perfect SDL. Throw on a paint job and take out a few dents and she will be pretty cherry.

All in all it has been a pretty fun year, and I have to say a 300SDL is pretty close to a perfect sedan. Awsome brakes, great handling, good power.

Next year I plan to fix the tranny leaks and maybe replace it, along with a bunch of other stuff under their.

Timing chain and those %&)%^)&*(^)*( lifters!

New windsheild so I can see! :D

No more tape on the bumper!

Upgrades:
Euro lights
XM radio, with better system
Dents removed (maybe)
Winter/school beater. I would like to retire my SDL to an April-October driver.

It has been a fun year looking forward to another!

btw I will post my maintaince records in a seperate post.

God I wish I could put only 15K miles on a car in a year.
I got my 300D last November and have put damn near 50K on it...

I've done 100K a year in my VW's when I was younger(and had a tougher rear end)... Talk about nothing BUT driveing!!

Umm...heard alot about this car, but have yet to see pictures

Consider the car a learning experience- bet you are turning into quite der Dieselmechaniker.

Re: pics

I just go to "POST REPLY"

Scroll down to " Additional Options" where it says " Attach Files" click on
"Manage Attachments"

then a window pops up, go to " BROWSE" it takes you to your hard drive directory. Next, locate pic and, click upload. If all goes ok, you will see that the pic is uploaded.
The pic should appear in your post once you submit your post. There is however a limit to how big the pic can be. But make sure you give it a try.
