Hey gang, nice upgrade Donnie!
I'm in the process of selling my 300SD (gulp) and found the door locks will not operate correctly. The driver door will go close then reopen. Here's what I've discovered so far. The trunk mounted vacuum pump will operate when the door tumbler is operated in the open and/or the close position. So I tried to check the vacuum pump and it pumps 9 psi when unlocking and 15" when locking. So when I try to lock the doors the driver plunger goes down, the rear plungers do not move and I hear the trunk and fuel cap actuate, then the plunger will open back up immediately. I noticed with the vacuum hose off the pump it will stay running, as soon as I place the hose or a finger tip over the pump it shuts right down. Hope this is enough detail for someone's expertise get me pointed in the right direction. Thanks, does not begin to cover the appreciation I have for this site! LH
HOT DOG a spell checker! he he it recommended I change the 300SD to "g-string" trust me that would be an ugly sight! he he, couldn't help it! :)

Door locks question

Just got another look, the two front doors respond to the downward motion and the trunk also, the rear doors don't respond by the first 1-2 seconds the front door pins lift into the open position. Manually locked all four doors and used the key on the driver side to unlock, the pump appears to have no problem popping open all four door pins. The vacuum side though is another question because it appears that any 'load' and it shuts down immediately. Your thoughts appreciated, thanks LH

Most likely, you have a leak that is open in the lock position. The pump has a switch that tells it to shut down at a specified range. If you put your finger on it, it should shut right down.

(Bill did all of the programming on the site, and I will say he did a helllllllllll of a good job!)

Thanks.
